I miss this. This used to be Sunday, way back when. Back when Hubby lived there and I lived here, and weekends were about spending time together. And inevitably, we'd wind up just curled up on the sofa talking or napping or just kind of being. It was nice. Unbelievably nice.
But times change, I guess. Sunday is now about laundry and cleaning and going and doing and rushing.
And sometimes is seems there's just no time to simply be together anymore.
But I remember those long ago Sundays.
And I miss them.

This is a lovely photo of absolute STILL. The soft colors and muted light... as you write, "unbelievably nice." I guess we could all make an appointment to curl up in each other and BE!
And oh!... is that a tattoo on your toe!? I have 2 strawberries on my wrist to honor my Grandma Martin who grew the most luscious and beautiful strawberries on her farm in Michigan. She died when I was a teenager, but the memories of her, the farm and those strawberries are some of the most precious of my life. (I am doing my list of 57 things in 52 weeks... and one of them includes another tattoo! Shhhhhh!)
I love your story with this photo. I do hope you will be able to create such a Sunday again some time soon. Wouldn't that be worth an effort? It's a nice reminder of what life is about. It's so simple isn't it?!
We're always running around on Saturday so we can spend every Sunday doing exactly this.
Beautiful moment of feet. Sadly, they never seem to last. Things change. Thanks for sharing this. =)
LOVE this image... Such a great example, in capture, of how things do change. Sad.
That looks very quiet and cozy and warm and nice.
I fondly think of those days too. When the most important thing on your to-do list was relax.
Intertwined feet speak volumes, don't they? And even though you're not able to do this so often anymore, I'm sure you're finding other ways to relax and "just kind of be." Gorgeous!
Lovely moment.
I miss those Sundays too! We used to have Sunday activities together - an afternoon each week dedicated to just spending time together. Somehow they got lost along the way...
Well hopefully we all can find a way back to a lazy Sunday. Beautiful capture of an intertwined moment!
Aww, what a beautiful story!! A good reminder to stop and take those moments now, even when you don't seem to have the time.
thank you for participating this week!
I remember those lazy days from our pasts as well. No hurry to get anywhere but simply the joy of not working and just being together enjoying life. Time to get back to basics and thanks for reminding us all what is really important.
Hope you stop by as I am hosting weekly giveaways now on my blog.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Thanks for sharing your picture and thoughts! You should find a way to make those Sundays happen again, even if it's not a Sunday and even if it's just for a few minutes.
Not sure I ever had thing, but think that one day? when the kids are grown?
We all change and evolve and so do our relationships with those closest to us.
it is so true. we all need to take more time for this. just being together.
This is so peaceful.
