just saying

I believe there is a difference between having an opinion and making a judgment.

I have lots of opinions. Lots. But I am fully aware that they are just my personal thoughts and ideas. Just what I think. Just me.

But a judgment seems to come with the idea of being right. As in "my way is The Way." As in "I am Right."

And I know I'm not Right. Perhaps for me I'm right. But that's just me.

And if your opinions are different from my opinions, that doesn't make you Right either. It means you have a different thought. A different way of seeing.

I'm not shy about my opinions. That doesn't mean I'm just going to walk up to a person and start spouting off my opinions about life or people or turnips (which are gross, but I digress), but I'm also not going to lie about what I think. I will give my honest opinion, whether is casts a favorable light or not.

And in this space, in this blog, I will absolutely give my honest opinions. No one else has to agree with them. But they are my opinions. My truths. What I see. Just me.

And sometimes, I write just to get the thoughts out of my head (like, um, now). Because sometimes I just want to say things, because that is how I'm feeling, what I'm thinking, in that moment. And sometimes that moment passes and my feelings or opinions will change. And sometimes not.

But they're still mine. And they're still true for me.

And I'm not saying that I'm Right.

I'm just saying.

Keep on saying...I wish more people would be able to say what they feel without feeling that we all need to agree.

I've been feeling so much that way recently, and feeling like I need to put that sort of a feeling out there. That it's ok to feel what you feel, and I can feel what I feel, and it's all good.

I feel like there needs to be an explicit rule out there in blogdom. Ok, life in general. Don't hate on people.

K, seriously. Is it so hard? I mean, I've come across opinions that make my blood boil - as I'm sure everyone has. Can we all just agree to state our positions without having to attack each other? Someone thinking differently from you should really not come as such a threat. And if you can't say it nicely, then just keep mum until you can.

And now I'm really curious what the disagreement was about. Care to share? It's ok if you don't, though. :)

ALl I have to say is "amen, sister!" Because seriously? Isn't that the point of a blog? To put your opinion out there and _maybe_ have discourse? Yeah, I'm right there with you. 100%

How dare you come here and tell me that I have to be open to other people opionions and....

WAHHAHAHAA.... kidding. Totally kidding.

Speak on sister-friend! I value your opinion.

I often wish I had more confidence in my opionions. Silly example: I wrote in somebody's comments last night that I liked the Berenstain Bears (it was related to the post) and the commenters after me were calling them (the Bears) "all exposition" and "anvilicious" (which I needed to look up) and I felt all stupid.
